The transition from spring into summer has been an incredibly busy, but very exciting time, for us here at Coffeebar. In addition to serving up loads of delicious coffees, teas, and tasty, local and organic eats, we were busy working on a totally one-of-a-kind art show called “Faces of Coffeebar.”
Faces of Coffeebar was a unique collaborative art project that was incredibly important and special to us because it was designed to capture and celebrate the community that makes us thrive, inspires us, and fuels our passions. Because, ultimately, you all are what makes Coffeebar who we are! The “Faces” project was also very special because it served as a benefit for the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe, a non-profit organization committed to saving and improving the lives of pets in the Truckee-North Lake Tahoe region and beyond through adoptions, community spay/neuter services and humane education programs.
The “Faces of Coffeebar” art exhibit featured portraits of the Faces of Coffeebar (all of You!), as photographed by local professional photographer Court Leve right here at Coffeebar. A select number of portraits were re-created as latte art by Coffeebar’s talented baristas, the photographs of which became a central feature of the Faces of Coffeebar exhibit. Local photographer/artist Grant Kaye designed the magnificent centerpiece for the art display, which was a mosaic of portraits that flipped over to display the Coffeebar and HSTT logos. It looked AWESOME! Big thanks to Grant as well as Sierra Custom Signs, where all of the printing was done.
Coffeebar hosted an art show on June 1 to unveil the “Faces” exhibit. It was a fantastic event, with tons of communtiy support, and all profits going to the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe. A BIG THANKS to all of you who came out to show your support for this project, for Coffeebar, for the HSTT, and for arts in your community.
The Faces of Coffeebar exhibit remained on display throughout the month of June, proudly showcasing our fabulous community. Additionally, in conjunction with the project, Coffeebar hosted an HSTT pet adoption event on June 15th out on our patio. Some absolutely ADORABLE cats and dogs showed up to try to win over the hearts of eligible pet owners. Thanks again to all who participated!
This project was, above all, a celebration of our community, and we enjoyed it immensely. Thank you to all of those who participated in our photo shoots, came back to check out the display, attended the art show opening or the adoption day, or made a donation to the HSTT. And most of all, thank you for being a part of our community. Thank you for being the essence of Coffeebar. WE LOVE YOU GUYS!!
Also please note that if you still want to help out the HSTT, you can still make a donation, in exchange for the digital files of all of your photos from the Faces of Coffeebar photoshoot. For a $15 HSTT donation, we’ll email the photos your way! Please email marketing/communications director Kara at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested.
